The Centre Maurits Coppieters (CMC) is seeking to engage a researcher on the field of culture and linguistics to write a paper developing the concept of cultural footprint.

Deadline 1st September 2010

The concept has been used in the European Parliament as an analogy to the ecological footprint to advocate for a better protection of cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe. Nonetheless aside from the book "Ecolingusitics" by Bernat Joan there has not been in depth methodological and scientific reflection about it.

The selected researcher will write an article developing the concept of cultural footprint following methodology sep ut at "Ecolinguistics" by Bernat Joan. The article must focus on the methodology, measure and indicators of the cultural footprint.
